Hello, Seniors.
How does Bram Stoker convey mood and tone in the first five chapters? (Hint: This will probably require at least two paragraphs, and I need to know you understand the difference between these two terms!)
Before you write, think about the difference between mood and tone (one is the attitude an author conveys about a subject, the other is the general feeling you get from reading the story. For instance, how does it make you feel when you read about a foggy meadow and know Dracula lurks as the fog itself?! Whew! I know that gives me goosebumps!).
Be sure to find one example of each to show me that you are truly a Dracula expert! (Another Hint: one of these can be proven in adjectives and phrases, the other can be shown in descriptions or scenes! Don't think too hard. You need not use exact quotes, but make sure other people understand what you are saying, so be clear!)
